My collection, "Oceans in Peril" brings attention to the issue of plastics in the oceans and garbage on the beaches of the world. These mixed media works have plastics and garbage collected from my travels integrated into the design and resin finish. See these works in the display cases in the foyer of Gallery@501.

This unique Christmas show features artful creations made by local artists, not found at any other Christmas Show. This year the show will have a section for the little shoppers, the "Little Elves Shoppe", where children can purchase special items no more than $8. Cash or food donations for the Strathcona Food Bank are appreciated.

Each weekend during this event there will be different artists set up in this historic building on Whyte Avenue in Edmonton. Unlike other years it is indoors and will adhere to strict Covid-19 rules.

Culture Fest highlights the wonderful diversity of arts, culture, and the not for profit organizations that operate within Strathcona County. We hope that this three week event will be something the entire community can enjoy. Engage with many of the local arts & culture organizations that have all taken a hit to membership and engagement over the last year due to COVID-19. Let's all work together to bring art, joy, fun, and life back into our community.

As a kick off for the ASSC "From Behind the Mask" on-line show, I am opening up my front facing garage for a special Pop Up Sale!! I have created many exciting new works and several series over the span of Covid-19. I am excited to share these with you in a safe setting. Viewing either by appointment on April 16th or drop-in on April 17th.

The Art Society of Strathcona County is celebrating its 35th year of operation with a special show of some of our artists in the form of collections. Many of these works were created during Covid. See what inspired our artists created during this difficult time. Works can be viewed on-line on October 1st, by appointment on October 16th and by a public showing on October 17th and 18th.

Join us in our Annual Spring Show where over 35 artists will show their unique artworks in a multitude of media! Reception April 17th, 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

This show celebrates Canada's iconic images whether it is the landscape, culture or emotion. Works of art drawing from images from across Canada are featured. This show features over 200 works by more than 40 talented artists.

I will be Gallery@501's Artist of the Month for October, 2019. My paper collage works will be displayed in the window facing street level, with a display depicting a bit about my process.

I have a display of my mini collages as well as mosaics on tin and board and mosaics with resin on display in this nifty flower shop. All works use the altered paper that I create as a base. The mosaics also feature collected beach finds; sea glass and sea tile that I collect in Mexico.

I will be showing selected works of my unique paper collage works in the Artrium space of the Strathcona County Community Center.

Strathcona County's first annual visual Art in the Park Art Walk will be held on July 1st, Canada Day. It will be held in conjunction with Strathcona County's Canada Day celebrations held in the heart of the Community Center, located in the Festival Place Parking Lot along with the Farmers Market. The Art Walk will be open from 10am to 5pm.

Visit the creation space of artists to view works in progress and their entire art collection. Many surprises are in store, studios backing onto beautiful natural areas, art in the garden and even a mobile Art Studio!!

Every year Strathcona County puts out a Call to Artists to submit art to be purchased for their permanent art collection. This event is an exciting show of a great variety of mediums and methods from local artists.

Annual spring show of members of the Art Society of Strathcona County. In the fall of 2018 the public submitted personal photographs that they would like to see as the inspiration of a work of art. Society artists chose photographs that spoke to them and have been working all winter to create artwork from these photographs. Each photograph may have more than one work of art created from it.

Escape the doldrums of winter and have a whole lot of fun creating unique acrylic works. We will explore various techniques and learn about paint and pouring mediums to create 5 or 6 colorful acrylic pourings.

Each year Strathcona County invites local artists to submit their art to the Strathcona County Art Acquisition Program. The County provides non-resident jurors to jury the work and chose which works will become part of the Permanent Art Program. Winners are announced at a reception on June 7th at 7pm at Gallery@501. A "People's Choice Award" is also presented at the reception.

I have 4 unique paper collage works in this show of several artists works. They are on display in the common area of the Strathcona Community Center.

This show of Norma's unique paper collage showcases the story of this interesting medium. Her process is to let the paper inspire and guide her in this free and explorative process. The creations are full of texture and pattern resulting in a surprising and imaginative journey for the viewer.

This free event provides a no-cost gallery space local community's new and emerging artists (defined as any artist whose primary income does not come from selling their work). Over 3 days 700 visitors are expected to view 70+ artists at this free gallery. This year marks the event's 10th anniversary. The Hon. Rachel Notley will host this event that saw its original success under former Edmonton-Strathcona MLA Raj Pannu.

This juried show is a showcase of 64 artists from Western Canada. Opening reception is Friday, October 13th 7pm to 9:30pm. Art awards presented at 7:15pm. Afternoon tea will be held October 22 1pm to 3pm. Show is open October 13 - 15 and October 20 - 22, 2017 from 10am to 4pm

The A.J. Ottewell Center (red barn) will have several artists showcasing their art and working on current projects from 10am to 3pm.

The Loft Gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.

Chautauquas were traveling shows and local assemblies that flourished in the United States and Canada in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, that provided popular education combined with entertainment in the form of lectures, concerts, and plays.

Along the Chautauqua theme of information and cultural dissemination, both professional and amateur performers will grace the stage in the Chautauqua tent, providing entertainment and historical narratives. Community workshops will be hosted in the tent to create 400 – 750 tiles for the Canada 150 Mosaic Project. The tent will be up for the last two weeks in August, allowing for 28 blocks of programs. Community outreach and events will include an interactive art exhibit, historical narratives by local seniors, children’s workshops, and theatrical performances.

During this time, gallery@501 will be featuring the artworks of Joe Fafard, a recipient of the Order of Canada for his outstanding contribution to the arts and the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. Joe’s son, Joël Fafard (an award winning musician) will be one of the professional acts booked for the evening performances in the Chautauqua Tent Series at Festival Place presented by the Cultural Arts Foundation and Imperial Oil.

This "Taste of Sherwood Park" event pairs with artists to create a unique event. Held in the Agora Room of the Strathcona Community Center (town hall) in Sherwood Park, Alberta July 9th from 4pm to 8pm.

The Art Society of Strathcona County is hosting this self-guided tour of artist studio spaces, which is free to the public. Each studio will have a large and varied collection of art for sale. Studios are in the homes of artists, and some, like my own, are in a beautiful backyard garden setting. Several artists are also set up in the A.J. Ottewell Center (red barn). Also open to the public on the tour are Gallery 501, Spark Gallery, The Clay Hut and Studio One. Come out and meet the artists. I will be providing a complimentary beverage at my home and will be doing a draw of a special work of art.
